A white paper by OpeMed, a medical education project led by Edinburgh University, supports the use of ceiling hoists as an efficient and effective tool to support safe moving and handling in a range of care environments.

In addition to reducing workplace injuries and less strain, OpenMed cites two studies that prove organisations can recoup the costs of installing overhead lifting solutions in as little as three years, which is significant given that most ceiling hoist systems have a lifespan of 10+ years.*
