Renowned comfort with the essentials of healthcare
There’s nothing quite as comfortable as reclining in a La-Z-Boy® chair, and thanks to a new healthcare range designed in collaboration with Cubro, Kiwis can continue to relax in style in rest homes, retirement villages and hospitals.
Three new La-Z-Boy® chairs (the Pinnacle recliner, the Pinnacle mobile recliner and the Pinnacle platinum powerlift chair) are now available to the aged care and hospital sector here in New Zealand and have been specifically designed with healthcare needs in mind.
“La-Z-Boy® identified healthcare as an area they wanted to move into,” explains Cubro’s Business Development Manager Ashley Currie. “It was an ideal opportunity for both of us really. We can work together to improve the outcome for patients and aged care residents.”
Cubro worked with La-Z-Boy® to design a chair with a mobile base that allows hospital patients or rest home residents to remain seated and be wheeled along. “Together we’ve designed a good mobile base with a central braking system.”
Keeping the chairs clean was a top priority, which led to the creation of a special iClean™ fabric with revolutionary technology that forms a barrier against spills, preventing them from becoming stains. “Every inch of fabric is completely immersed in a stain-resistant solution which guarantees every single fibre has been treated, leaving a concentrated barrier of protection but still keeps the fabric soft and luxurious,” explains Ashley.
The Pinnacle Recliner features La-Z-Boy’s® signature ‘rocker’ action (which can be disabled) and has a plush pillowed back and padded rolled arms, perfect for rest and relaxation. The Pinnacle Platinum Powerlift Chair has twin motors allowing the user to lift up into a standing position or fully recline all the way back into a zero-gravity position to stimulate blood circulation and achieve pressure relief.
“We’ve basically retained all the benefits of the standard La-Z-Boy® retail range and designed it to suit a healthcare environment. This brand has a lot of unique features and they are very comfortable.”
Both chairs are available in a variety of colours and can be covered in fabric or vinyl, exclusively through Cubro. “We're excited about this new venture with La-Z-Boy®," says Ashley.
