We are excited to welcome on board two very experienced Occupational Therapists to our team of in-house OTs that will be available to advise OTs, Physios and clinicians on suitable solutions for their clients. Both Jo and Heather are excited to discuss complex situations and help problem solve any challenges you might be facing. Our team of in-house OTs are also available to provide training classes, showroom visits and provide advice internally.

Jo Bolton, NZROT, Cubro Equipment Advisor

Jo joined the Cubro team in November 2020. Originally from the UK, she trained as an Occupational Therapist and graduated with a Master in Science (MSc)  in 2012. Jo has worked in a variety of roles in the north of England including Older Persons Rehabilitation, Community Rehabilitation and Hospice (inpatient unit, community and day therapy). As well as working as an OT in a number of rest homes. After travelling around Asia, Jo made the move to New Zealand in 2015 and began working as a Community OT with a variety of ACC clients. An active member of the community, Jo also works part time at a local Hospice.

Passionate about helping people retain and regain their independence, Jo loves finding solutions that improve the quality of life for clients, their family and carers. “I have a strong interest in equipment and what it can do to enhance daily routines for everyone involved says Jo.

Heather Gibbs, NZROT, Cubro Equipment Advisor

A new arrival at Cubro, Heather joined us in March 2021, bringing with her 24 years of OT experience in hospitals, community teams, and private clinics. She has 16 years of experience as a wheelchair and seating therapist specialising in postural assessment and provision of complex and custom wheelchairs and seating, as well as community occupational therapy and rehabilitation. She has held positions in acute inpatient teams in the UK and New Zealand, as well as in paediatrics within education and community settings.

Heather is passionate about the use of equipment and customised solutions for postural, pressure, and pain management; and the positive change this brings to people’s lives.  Heather says “I enjoy the sharing of knowledge and problem solving with therapists to help find effective outcomes for their clients, families, and carers."
