The Stabilo Base Hilo cushion is a stabilising seat with a pommel wedge that enables abduction of the legs. It is used to stabilise the client in a seated position allowing for postural asymmetries and neutral positioning of the lower limbs. It can be easily shaped, formed, and reformed to suit the client's needs as they grow or if their condition changes.
By forming a wedge at the front of the cushion and channels for neutral thigh positioning, it creates a bucket seat shape, this can increase stability and safety by preventing the body from slipping forward and encourages the client to actively engage maintenance of good posture. This is a perfect solution for people with high muscle tone and can reduce the risk of contractures.
